Amara Leonard

Amara Leonard is an actor and comedian based in New York City. She studied at Northwestern University where she double-majored in Theatre and History. She has performed with Westport Country Playhouse, Fiasco Theater, The 24 Hour Play Festival, The Player’s Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, McCarter Theatre, Magnet Theater, The Tank, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and Teatro El Publicio (Havana). BA: Northwestern University. MFA: NYU Grad Acting, Class of 2026.

Amara is also a teaching artist. She performs and teaches improv with Highwire Improv, Magnet Theater, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, LessonFace, and more. She created and taught various iterations of "Improv for Kids via Zoom” and "Adult Fundamentals Online,” that she has facilitated with the Winnetka Public Library and with Princeton University’s “Voices in STEM.” Previously, she was the coach for Northwestern University’s “Titanic Players.”
